Although written and set in the 1970s, Confusions by Alan Ayckbourn is still as relevant today as it was then. In five interconnected plays, it confronts us with a series of everyday situations using comedy and farce. These situations may be common enough in their nature, yet are made extraordinary by the failed interactions between the characters.

Be it a mother obsessed with her children, a lonely husband, an estranged couple, an entire village or a group of strangers – the characters of this play hold up a farcical mirror to society and make us question our own interactions.

The ability, or lack thereof, to communicate efficiently with each other leaves the characters trapped in a lonely and confusing world, wrapped up in their own obsessions and dreams. Confusions is an examination of human interaction. Humorous and at times dark, lively and diverse, this play will make you laugh, think, and maybe even cry. Certainly not to be missed!
