Follow up of “The Italian Dancehall Job – vol.2”
Few weeks ago we were dancing Dancehall in Bergamo (Italy) for the second episode of “The Italian Dancehall Job”, idea and concept made by Beatrice Secchi (Americanaexotica) and myself. Those 6 hours were HOT & CRAZY!!
Thanks are never enough for all who came and joined the event, first of all our two special international guests: Blacka di Danca (USA) and Melpo Mellz (Sweden).
If you’re asking “why” of this Event name, here a simple explanation: based on the movie “the Italian Job” (it was on streaming that night), we were talking about “How to share and spread” our passion for the Dancehall dance and the Jamaican culture, so Beatrice and me were thinking about a name under which collect all the elements: “Dancehall” “Spread” “Italy”. However we also realized that this passion is so beautiful but also so hard to follow (study, teach, flight for taking class, organize event, talk with people, give the right information, contact Dancehall actors for coming in Italy, etc).. so we said “You know, that’s a kind of job to realize our dream. And that’s it.. Our “Italian Job for Dancehall in Italy” or, reworded, our “Italian Dancehall Job”.
Talking about this part two, second episode, next stop or new chapter (..call it as you prefer) it was simply MAGIC !
Blacka felt in love with Italy when we invited him in Bergamo (his first time ever in Italy) in March 2013, so he was happy to be there again; Melpo, as Blacka did few months before, accepted our invitation and, for her first time too, she could share her knowledge and her huge experience in Italy (the contact with the artist was organized in collaboration with Mactitude – special thanks to Mad Mike and Alevanille).
Our project is more alive than ever, quoting Blacka in a recent interview for LargeUp, and in these days we are already working on other important events for the Dancehall scene in Italy, because Dancehall is our passion that we RESPECT, LOVE and SHARE.
Moreover collaboration are always welcome, there are many other Dancehall lovers out there, there are also a lot of people interested to know more about it… so don’t hesitate to contact us for any project.
Most of all… STAY TUNED!!!
Dancehall and Zumba class in Sardegna
I’m so excited to announce my first book in Sardegna.
Next Sunday August 4th, 2013 I will teach a one hour Zumba class during a Marathon of Zumba, plus after this there will be a Dancehall workshop with me and my friend Silvia. NUH MISS IT!
Dancehall is a social dance coming from Jamaica; it’s a dance of expression, it’s a dance for everybody, especially in its origins. I can’t wait to share with you my knowledge about this dance and, for sure, to dance it with you. Don’t worry about your level or knowledge, Dancehall is born to be simple, EVERYBODY is invited to participate at this workshop!
Be there, Be happy and Be ready!
Thanks to Alessandra and Silvia that invited me, I can just give them back my maximum!! Much love!
See you in Sardegna!!!!!! Ahiiiiiii!!!!!

!!—STAY TUNED—!!
Orville Xpressionz Hall – Dancehall workshops in Italy
1. Non vorrei anticiparvi nulla di quello che potrebbe succedere domani a Torino;
Per info e prenotazioni, riferirsi all’evento facebook.
Snoop Lion video production
Here the official video of (ex)Snoop D-O-doubleG.. aka Snoop Lion.
He simply took two of the greatest Dancehall singers in last 2012.. and he made it.
Snoop rulez! we know that, even if I need more time to understand his new style; I think I’m not the only one trying to choose between Dogg and Lion. I’m too nostalgic and I need to keep my Dogg version in my mind:
I’m not completely agree with the theory of Bob Marley “reincarnation”, especially when the reincarnation is not happened from Snoop born, but only after years and years in hip hop – gun-pimp-stuff included.
However we have to agree with him when he says that
I’m tired with the hip hop
.
Hip hop is not dead, hip hop looks tired or better.. fat! Business can makes you fat! In last years, this new generation produce a really too empty music, compared to the past and, moreover, compared to the richness of the Dancehall. Richness in topics, riddims, styles and consequently money. Anyway money don’t talk to me and I don’t talk about money.
Personally I fell in love years ago in Reggae music, now one of his son is Dancehall.. I really hope all these Messiah can give some add value to this music and don’t ruin it with the famous “fatty fatty”-machine-Business.
